Problems with Chat?

I'm just enquiring about any recent problems with the chat box. It works fine for about 10 seconds and then you try to press send and it doesn't. All my site members are having the same problem, and also the same thing is happening on all of my other sites. I wondered if anyone else was having the problem and also if there is a solution to fixing it? As its a great inconvenience.

I have my website made, but when I press shift + F2 I get no response. How am I suppose to make myself moderator and others as I choose. Please reply to this problem as soon as possible. My website is meant to help people with a mental illness, Schizorphrenia.

Er. I meant my website members only.

The bar appears at the bottom to everybody, so anyone who is on the website can sign up on the bar and chat.

I want it only for my website members.

I have near 2000 users on my website I cannot check them all if they sign up. Like, to make sure if it is my member or some random person/guest on my website.

It is members only. Those who try to use it have to create an account with your Skysa bar. It's not possible to use without submitting an email/username, etc.

Im happy i was able to get all the info integrated finally to pull the right information..

but for now if you click "go to profile" button then it loads in the same page as the main site an i

do not have a link in the profile to go back to main site from that window cause it pops up a window when they

click view profile on the site, then they can just close the popup an continue on their way.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am having a problem with my announcements window on my site that the subject color and time are in white which is the same as the background. The announcement message comes out fine and in black.

hi, i am using skysa in my socialengine SE4 ...with widget made by a developer which is integrated with skysa bar ... everything works great .. but only one problem is that after putting bar on my site my users cannot upload videos from their PCs ... there is a fancy uploader ..something is conflicting ..do u tell whats wrong ..

It would have to be done with Javascript. I'm not too familiar with Javascript but I'm sure you could find some code that uses "cookies" to track if the person has been to the site before.

I think there is no way to integrate Skysa with Social engine coz when any member clicks chat it says "LOGIN".

It means that it isnt integrated with the database.

I hope skysa will look ahead for social engine as well.

I had the same problem in IE. Adding the doctype to my pages fixed it. Add the line below at the very top of your page before the HTML tag:

in/on our Spruz website shoutboxes...is there a way?

I'm trying to find a way of any/all comments posted via the Skysa bar comments app - to automatically be displayed/posted into my Spruz website shoutboxes, so that members can have option of which they use - and visitors have a way of posting a 'status' message to the Shoutbox without having to be a member of the spruz site.

Any suggestions?

My bar appears at the top of my web site page . I have pasted the code after Head and previewed the site and the bar is at the top of the screen. I have also tried pasting it after Body but the same thing happens again. I use Serif WebPlus X2 to make my web sites and i have pasted it in the HTML of the master page.

you know when you're signed into the bar, how you get that settings thing on the end (its on the end on mine) that when you click it, it gives you the option to edit your profile, change your password and log out?

Well, I want to customize it so that when you want to edit profile or change password, you can actually see the text., cos the text color is a yellowy color (to match my site) but the background color is white.. how can i customize this?

I have basic understanding of css and semi advanced (??) knowledge of html, and little knowledge on php..

I'm embedding an flv video in the custom app module, but I need it to pop open when a new user hits the site. Any way to do this? It would be especially helpful if there was a way to specify the page that the app should auto-open on.

For example, a user could specify the homepage of their site and the relevant module will auto open when a user hits that page. Adding to that, this function should be toggleable between opening once and opening every time.

I have installed the Skysa toolbar on my site at http://www.teamoneexhibits.com/ . The problem I am having is with the cooliris tab. The cooliris app launches, but in IE8 it does not close but takes me to a black page. In Firefox it closes just fine. Any suggestions?

Ning is removing that option for free sites now and the Mini option when free sites are discontinued. You will need to get at least their middle grade plan to put any custom code (like you need for skysa) on your site.

You could alternatively use Spruz.com service for your site, as they allow for adding custom code even on free sites.

My website it not doing well with organic traffic and I get 0 repeat visitors + ppc ads are expensive...so let me know if there other ways through skysa to get social traffic

I have installed the skysa bar using the wordpress plugin and it works well, however the counters on my share buttons are not working. When I share my page using facebook, twiiter, buzz or digg, the counters don't change. Any suggestions?

i need help with installing the footer bar on other pages. i got it to work perfect on my homepage but if i try it on any other page it just puts it at the top of the page with just a black bar and no buttons. ive tried it in area.php which is where it takes you once logged in. i tried it in joovili_header and joovili_footer but it just puts it at the top. i also need help integrating it into my members database please. its all php based and mysql based can anyone help.

Merged my account from spruz with skysa yesterday. Wanted to add my site in http://harrypotterrpg.spruz.com for a bar and it says it already exists. Well it is linked to the skyza site but it didn't give me a bar and no option to create one. I have tried deleting my account from skysa and sign up again, yet it doesn't solve the issue. Bugged?

David, thanks. We can do the entire domain, yes. However a quick test looks like there may be other sites? It seems the bar is generating traffic to yahoo - is it using the Yahoo chat apis or something? Also sk.connect2.ws? No idea what that is... There was no other traffic at the time from the machine we were monitoring...

If you can white list any domain that's parent is skysa.com that should cover it. Something like: *.skysa.com

If not the normal ones are static.skysa.com, static2.skysa.com, chat.skysa.com and apps.skysa.com

I am trying to determine what website need to be enabled in order to support the Skysa bar behind a firewall. We are a whitelist-only group and so each needs to be explicitly declared. I could go through the discovery process, but that is hit or miss and takes a while. Does anyone know what the bar, chat, and IM functions are using?

You first need to set yourself up as a moderator on the bar. You can add moderators from the Moderators area of your My Bar area on this site. It will guide you through the process. Once you are a moderator you will have the kick option when you click on a persons name in the chat room.

You do not need to give them access to your accunt on Skysa.com. As a moderator they will be able to see additional options on apps that require moderation, such as comments(where moderators have the delete option) and the Chat Room(where moderators have the option to kick a person).

Your site is all in flash, and it seems that the flash is not embedded with the wmode opaque option. This can cause issues. I am having the same problem...trying to find where to put the code. I know how to put it in the HTML BOX module but cannot find how to do the template customization and the between Tags thingy. Only a few features work when I place them in the HTML module. Not all work... and the bar shows up somewhat crowded when I click on, for example, the ANNOUNCEMENT BOX. It separates and shows up underneath the skysa bar. It splits into individual boxes. Don't know what I'm doing wrong and if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
